Nexbillpay rolls out new and future improvements for utility company customers

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Nexbillpay, a nationwide utility industry customer payment platform, recently rolled out details of their cloud-based portal in the form of a newly-tooled website, https://ec2-18-188-60-38.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/.

Their payment software is used by utility companies to offer their customers various payment options, access to their account information, and enrollment in email or text notifications. They can also set up autopay, text to pay, automated pay by phone, and receive upcoming payment notifications.

Nexbillpay designed with rural utility customers in mind.

Nexbillpay utility customers in rural communities can now make payments without mailing a check or coming in person to the utilities’ office to pay in person with only check or cash. Historically rural utility companies had few options to offer flexible payment options because of the high costs associated with other software portals.

Nexbillpay utility customers can still speak to a customer service representative whenever they want. However, the payment software they offer – accessible on both desktop and mobile devices – often gives the customers all the answers they need, eliminating the need for many phone calls and questions previously only handled by phone or in person.

Chase Elmore, Vice President for Nexbillpay, states, “We are proud of our frequently updated integrated payment software, which is designed to work with any utility billing software company. The flexibility of remote, secure payment options alone gives these utility company customers options as they’ve never had before, for a much better customer experience.”

Nexbillpay a welcome ‘no contact’ customer payment option during COVID-19

Elmore adds, “A water utility system customer in Tennessee tells us that having a large variety of payment options has increased their customer payment participation through Nexbillpay an average of 25% since the pandemic during March 2020. They also report that their customers are pleased to have a ‘no contact’ way to make their payments. These facts are a real testament to the appetite of these rural utility companies’ customers, and the Nexbillpay integrated payment software is the way to resolve this demand.”

The future of Nexbillpay payment options

Nexbillpay has plans to roll out even more payment options to their utility company client customers, such as Venmo, Paypal, Apple Pay, as early as Spring 2021.

In a world of electronic payment options, even rural utilities’ customers are starting to expect better payment and account information options than traditional rural utilities were able to offer. Nexbillpay provides those customers with the ease and convenience they’ve come to expect from many of their other service providers.
